Gig Harbor Academy MIssion Statement
GHA strives to instill academic excellence by challenging each student intellectually, creatively and physically in a respectful and caring environment.
The GHA mission statement, posted throughout campus, highlights our purpose each day with our students. As faculty and staff, parents entrust us with shaping young minds in an educational environment that is special, if not increasingly rare. Teaching our students the values of stewardship, community and the importance of critical thinking, we have the unique joy of gaining instant rewards of our work:
- Intellectually: One of our Third graders scoring a “3” on the national Math Olympiads Test (Avg. score for 5th graders is 1.5!).
- Creatively: 1st graders singing beautifully as one, preparing for our Winter Concert.
- Physically: 4th graders, on our athletic field, mastering the techniques and skills of soccer, instilling the value of teamwork.
We watch as our students become good stewards of the environment, taking ownership in preserving the nature trail that borders our wetlands, in essence creating our very own outdoor science classroom. Our mission statement is just a piece of paper unless we all take ownership and make it into the guiding document that makes GHA the premier educational experience it has become.
